Walkthrough
for Brainstorm Dial-Up Account with Windows XP

This is a step-by-step walkthrough for your dial-up account with Brainstorm Internet. If you have any problems call us at 247-1442 in Durango or 326-1010 in Farmington . We are open from 8am-10pm Monday thru Friday and from 9am-6pm Saturday thru Sunday. Thanks for using Brainstorm Internet!

 

Windows XP Dial-Up:

•  Click on the green Start button on the bottom left hand corner.

•  Click on Control Panel

 

Windows XP has two views. There is classic view and there is category view. If you see ÒPick a CategoryÓ in large letters then you are in category view, if you see a large list of small icons then you are in classic view. Switch to category view by clicking on Òswitch to category viewÓ on the upper left hand corner of the window.

 

•  Click on Network and Internet Connections

•  Click on Set up or change your internet connection

•  Click on the Setup button on the upper-right hand corner.

•  A new window will open up and click on Next on the bottom-right hand corner

•  Make sure the green dot is in Connect to the Internet

•  Click Next

•  Make sure the green dot is in Set up my connection manually

•  Click Next

•  Make sure the green dot is in Connect using a dial-up modem

•  Click Next

•  Type in Brainstorm where it asks you for your ISP name.

•  Click on Next

•  Leave the area code blank and here is a list of Cities with there corresponding dial-up numbers
Durango: 247-7798
Farmington:716-4042
Grand Junction:241-0044
Montrose:240-2794

•  Click on Next

•  Type in your username (ex: username@gobrainstorm.net ) at the end.

•  Enter your password in the Password and Confirm Password fields and all the checkboxes on the bottom can be left checked.

•  Click on Next

•  Check the grey square on the bottom. It will add a shortcut to Brainstorm on your desktop.

•  Click on Finish on the bottom.

•  Close the Network and Internet Connections window..

•  Double-click on the Shortcut to Brainstorm on your desktop.

•  Click on Connect

•  After it has connected open Internet Explorer to surf webpages or Outlook Express to check your email.
