Calling Your Tech Support Help Desk When calling the tech support help desk, it is important to follow several instructions to make your experience the best one possible. 1. Write down any error messages that you are receiving. This will help in pinpointing your computer problem and lead to a quicker diagnosis. 2. Shut down your computer before calling in. Leave it off for about one minute and then reboot. Often this will get rid of random problems and will eliminate the need to call the help desk. 3. Have your account number and name ready when the help desk person gets on the line. This will allow the help desk team to access your information in a more timely manner. 4. Make the call. The person who answers your call will need all the information you've collected so keep it handy. 5. Remember the name of the customer service representative that you spoke to, this will help if you need to call in again. 6. We are here to help. Tech Tip: Using Email Settings in Outlook To Block Messages You can block messages from a particular sender or domain. The domain is the name following the @ symbol in an email address. When you block a sender or domain, no email or news messages from that sender or domain will arrive in your Inbox or in the news messages you receive. Email from blocked senders goes directly into your Deleted folder. Newsgroup messages from blocked senders are not displayed. From your email Inbox, select a message from a sender that you want to block. On the Message menu, click Block Sender. To remove a sender or domain from the Blocked Senders list, go to your Tools menu and point to Message Rules, then click Blocked Senders List. Select the sender or domain you want to restore and click Remove.
